B.F.E. S.p.A., of Italy, manufacturers of BONNEY forged steel valves for over 50 years, has implemented in its 2 factories (forging plant and machinery, assembly and final testing workshop), a series of important investments to reach the following objectives:

•  Increased quality level

•  Increased production capacity to 100 000 valves per month

•  Increased flexibility for better customer service

• Possibility to machine a complete range of materials (even special alloys) required by engineering companies worldwide.

The investments over the last 7 year period, have been carried out in a planned way, supplying the factories with new forging presses, robotized areas for large volume machining and electronic machining centres for small and special volumes.

 

The informatics area has also been involved in this process, like the energetic systems, the environment process and workers safety.  B.F.E. will continue this trend with future investments to maintain production capacity and increase customer service and satisfaction.

In fact, during 2003 the factory for the machining and assembly of valves will be increased by a further 8 000 square metres to improve the layout and for the stocking of finished valves.
