OVERSEAS VISITORS
BAARS GROUP COMPANIES welcomed several key representatives from their overseas principals, during the past year.
ORBINOX, Spain
Product engineer Javier Múgica Iraola who had previously responded to Iscor Heavy Minerals' problem concerning a unique application during 2001 made a return visit to the site. Follow up was made on the ORBINOX XC type knife gate valve designed specifically for use underneath hoppers and silos where media of granular or powders are prevalent. Trials have proved to be successful which should result in further use of the product in the near future.
Several Cape wineries have utilised the ORBINOX knife gate valve range for many years. With this market in a growing phase, visits were made to exchange ideas and ascertain the intended future use of the reliable ORBINOX products.
In the pulp and paper industry, ORBINOX is there. Extensive promotion of ORBINOX products to OEM concerns around the world has resulted in many valves being installed in this Southern African industry. Steam expert Guillermo Vendrell toured the major centres of South Africa in an effort to promote future business prospects. During his visit, he held training workshops to impart his knowledge in the field of VYC steam equipment, it’s use in and around boiler houses and process industries. BAARS Group personnel were updated on the latest developments in VYC’s safety valve range and current stock holding. |
